Väyrynenite from Eräjärvi, Viitaniemi, Southern Finland– miniature specimen as unique piece
This specimen features finely distributed pink to reddish areas of Väyrynenite in contrasting matrix. The coloration stands out clearly against the surrounding grey, white and yellowish oxidized zones, creating a vivid overall impression. The mineral is spread across the surface in a patchy manner, which appears naturally rough.
Geology & Origin
Eräjärvi near Viitaniemi is one of the classic pegmatite localities in southern Finland. Väyrynenite occurs there in granitic pegmatites, often associated with beryl, apatite and other beryllium-bearing minerals. The region is geologically important for its diversity of rare phosphates, borates and lithium minerals.
