Stilbite crystals from Komsomolsk, Volga region, Russia – 1 unique lot with 8 pieces
This lot contains 8 specimens with radial Stilbite crystals on greenish-grey matrix from Komsomolsk on the Volga in Russia. The crystals typically show curved blades forming lens-shaped to fanlike aggregates with silky luster. Their color ranges from pale yellow to yellowish white, with transitions into ivory tones. Some specimens display subtle zoning or striking contrasts with the host rock.
Stilbite is a member of the zeolite group and typically forms as a secondary mineral in hydrothermally altered basalt. The Komsomolsk locality is rarely documented but is known for its distinctive zeolite paragenesis, which may also include heulandite and chabazite. This lot offers a fine selection of aesthetic pieces ideal for systematic collectors or petrographic study.
The flat and the folding boxes are not included but can be purchased separately.
