Our raw stones are partially not cleaned. Possible impurities such as dust or dirt can be easily and quickly removed with water. This has no impact on the product quality.
This 1 kg lot contains rough pieces of orange Selenite from Austria. The material is predominantly massive to compact, with clearly visible irregular layering and fracture surfaces. The coloration is dominated by warm orange to salmon tones, intersected by gray to greenish gray areas, creating a natural and contrasting overall appearance. In some parts, fine fibrous structures can be observed; however, the Selenite mainly occurs in a compact form and not as well-developed crystals. The surfaces range from matte to slightly silky in luster, emphasizing the natural character of the material.
Geology & Origin Selenite is a variety of gypsum (calcium sulfate dihydrate) and forms in sedimentary environments through the evaporation of mineral-rich solutions. During this process, dissolved minerals crystallize and form massive or crystalline structures. The orange coloration is caused by iron inclusions.
Application Suitable for collections, decorative purposes, and educational use. Due to its low hardness, Selenite should be kept dry and not exposed to water.
