This unique flat contains several Quartz geodes from St. Eulalia, Chihuahua, Mexico. The pieces show the typical geode form with a natural rock shell and opened cavities lined inside in light white to slightly grey tones. The outer surfaces are partly rough and natural, while the opened interiors create a lively and sparkling appearance. The individual geodes vary in size, shape, depth and internal lining, together forming an attractive and varied tray with good display and collection appeal.
Quartz geodes form when silica-rich solutions are deposited inside cavities in volcanic or sedimentary rocks and Quartz gradually develops along the inner walls over time. St. Eulalia in the Mexican state of Chihuahua is a classic mineral locality and is especially well known for its diverse mineralization. Geodes like these combine the natural character of the host rock with an attractive internal formation and are especially appealing both as collector’s material and for presentation in a tray.
