The specimens display mainly grey to brown host rock with vivid green to yellow-green crystal coatings and fine crystalline aggregates. The different specimen sizes and crystal habits provide an excellent representation of this classic German Pyromorphite locality.
Geology & Origin
Tanzfleck in the Taunus is one of Germany's classic localities for secondary lead minerals. Pyromorphite formed through the weathering of lead-bearing ores, producing characteristic green crystal coatings and aggregates on the host rock. The locality is well known among collectors for its colourful Pyromorphite crystals and its diverse secondary mineral assemblages.
