Pseudomorphs, Smoky Quartz, Feldspar, Aegirine and Siderite crystals from Mt. Malosa, Zomba, Malawi. 1 unique flat for mineral collectors.
Impressive crystal specimens from Mt. Malosa near Zomba, Malawi, featuring pseudomorphs, smoky quartz, feldspar, aegirine, and siderite. All crystals are on matrix, showcasing a diverse combination of typical minerals from this renowned pegmatite location.
Some pieces display striking pseudomorphs, where earlier crystal shapes have been replaced by new mineral formations – a rare and scientifically fascinating process. The selection is complemented by clear smoky quartz, whitish to reddish feldspar, slender to prismatic aegirine, and contrasting siderite formations.
Mt. Malosa is one of Africa’s most important sources of pegmatitic minerals. This flat consists of original finds from our 2022 mineral expedition and offers a representative cross-section of the local paragenesis in excellent condition.
