Pseudomorph, Aegirine, Quartz, Feldspar xls; Mt. Malosa, Zomba, Malawi; 1 unique flat (20)
Pseudomorphs, Aegirine, Quartz and Feldspar crystals from Mt. Malosa, Zomba, Malawi. 1 unique flat for mineral collectors.
Rare and contrasting combinations of Aegirine, Quartz, and Feldspar, including striking pseudomorphs, on matrix from Mt. Malosa near Zomba, Malawi. The crystals range from sharp Aegirine needles to clear Quartz and blocky Feldspar, forming aesthetic and well-textured specimens.
This material comes from our own fieldwork during a 2022 mineral expedition to Malawi and offers authentic specimens from one of Africa’s most renowned pegmatite regions. Especially notable are the pseudomorphs, where Quartz or Feldspar has fully replaced earlier crystal structures – a rare phenomenon indicating unique formation conditions.
These specimens are ideal for systematic collections, display purposes, or scientific documentation of pegmatite transformation processes. The matrix is stable and rich in contrast.
The pictured flat shows exactly the collection offered.
