Prehnite xls from Imilchil, Morocco – 1 Flat as a Unique Lot

The flat contains several Prehnite specimens from the Imilchil area in Morocco, showing differently developed pale green to yellowish-green Prehnite xls. The crystals form characteristic radiating, fan-shaped to rosette-like aggregates on the individual specimens, creating a distinctive textured surface. Depending on the piece, more transparent to slightly milky areas as well as natural variations in colour, shape and crystal development may occur. This uniquely assembled flat therefore offers a varied selection of characteristic Prehnite specimens and is a one-of-a-kind lot.

Geology & Origin

Prehnite is a calcium aluminium silicate that commonly forms during low-grade metamorphic and hydrothermal alteration. In the Imilchil area of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, Prehnite is well known for its pale green to yellowish crystal aggregates and occurs in mineralized fractures and cavities. The characteristic radiating and fan-shaped aggregates develop through the combined growth of numerous individual Prehnite crystals.
