Plum Agate; Indonesia; 1 kg
This item consists of 1 kg of Plum Agate from Indonesia. The material displays the characteristic cloudy to blossom like internal patterns typical of Plum Agate, showing shades of red, brown, green and grey set within lighter chalcedony. The pieces are mostly compact and well suited for cutting and polishing, decorative purposes, or as illustrative raw material for mineral collections. Natural pattern variations ensure a visually diverse selection within each kilogram.
Geology & origin
Plum Agate is a variety of chalcedony in which mineral inclusions create distinctive plum like internal structures during formation. Indonesian occurrences are especially valued for their strong coloration and clearly defined internal patterns. The material formed within volcanic host rocks, where silica rich fluids filled cavities and crystallized over extended geological periods.
