Parapierrotite and Realgar crystals from Allchar, Rozdan, Macedonia – micromount as unique piece
This micromount with Parapierrotite and Realgar crystals originates from the famous Allchar deposit near Rozdan in Macedonia. The surface of the specimen is dominated by intense orange to red mineral aggregates in which the crystal formations are clearly visible. Parapierrotite occurs in finely crystalline, well-structured areas, accompanied by lustrous deep red Realgar crystals that stand out vividly against the grey host rock. The combination of these two arsenic minerals gives the specimen an exceptional color contrast and a highly expressive microcrystalline texture.
Geology & Origin
The Allchar deposit is one of the world’s most renowned localities for rare thallium and arsenic minerals. The mineralization formed through hydrothermal processes within volcanically influenced sedimentary rocks. Parapierrotite and Realgar crystallized under unique geochemical conditions, resulting in an extraordinary diversity of rare mineral species. Allchar is regarded as a classic reference locality and is highly valued by collectors specializing in micromount specimens
