Most pieces show the typical paragenesis from the world-renowned cobalt-nickel mining district of Bou Azzer. The contrast between the often darker matrix and the colorful secondary minerals makes these specimens particularly attractive for collectors.
Bou Azzer in Morocco is one of the most important global sources for rare nickel and cobalt minerals. The deposit is known for its remarkable diversity of secondary arsenates, sulfates, and other oxidation products that form from the alteration of primary ores. Nickeltalmessite and retgersite are among the rarer representatives of this group and are not often seen on the market.
