Amber; large pieces, UV-active, Sumatra, Indonesia; 1 kg
Our raw stones are partially not cleaned. Possible impurities such as dust or dirt can be easily and quickly removed with water. This has no impact on the product quality.
Amber from Sumatra, Indonesia. 1 kg
This 1 kg unit contains raw pieces of genuine amber from Sumatra in natural red, orange and yellow tones. The pieces display attractive grain structures and are ideally suited for tumbling, cutting or further processing into jewelry and decorative objects. Under UV light (blacklight), the amber shows a characteristic fluorescence that highlights the internal structures and grain patterns impressively.
Geology & Origin
Amber is fossilized tree resin that hardened over millions of years through polymerization and burial in sediments. Indonesian amber comes mainly from Lampung Province in southern Sumatra. It is found in secondary deposits, where erosion has released it from the original resin-bearing strata. Unlike copal, this material is fully matured and stable. Its vivid range of colors and characteristic UV activity make Lampung amber highly valued both by collectors and for jewelry work.
