Embedded Lepidolite crystals from Rubicon, Namibia – small cabinet specimen

This normal specimen features embedded Lepidolite crystals from Rubicon, Namibia; it is not a unique piece, and the illustrated image is for reference only. Lepidolite from this locality typically occurs as fine- to medium-crystalline, scaly aggregates displaying violet to pink coloration. The crystals are closely intergrown and broadly embedded within the pegmatitic matrix, producing a uniform, mica-like surface texture. Crystal habit, color, and texture are characteristic of Rubicon Lepidolite and may vary slightly between individual specimens.

Geology & Origin

The Rubicon locality in Namibia is a well-known lithium-rich pegmatite occurrence in southern Africa. Lepidolite forms there during late-stage pegmatitic crystallization from lithium-enriched residual melts and is commonly associated with quartz, feldspar, and other mica minerals. The locality has been known for decades and supplies characteristic Lepidolite material valued mainly for comparative collections and mineralogical reference.
