Geology & Origin
Grape Agate is a botryoidal variety of Chalcedony composed of countless finely developed Quartz crystals that form spherical crystal aggregates. The famous deposits of Indonesia developed within volcanic cavities, where silica-rich fluids were deposited layer by layer over long geological periods. This process produced the distinctive grape-like crystal formations for which this mineral is renowned worldwide. This exceptional large specimen combines impressive dimensions with exceptionally abundant crystal growth, giving it outstanding collector and display quality.
