Grape Agate crystals from Indonesia – 2.16 kg unique piece

This exceptional specimen is covered with a dense layer of botryoidal Grape Agate crystals, creating a fascinating grape-like surface across the entire piece. The fine, evenly developed crystals give the specimen an outstanding texture and produce an attractive play of light. Its harmonious gray to whitish coloration highlights the delicate crystal growth, making this large display specimen a striking addition to any mineral collection.

Geology & Origin

Grape Agate is a botryoidal variety of Chalcedony composed of countless finely developed Quartz crystals that form spherical aggregates. The best-known deposits are found in Indonesia, where these remarkable formations developed inside volcanic cavities through the slow precipitation of silica-rich fluids. The characteristic grape-like surface is the result of this natural growth process and represents one of the most decorative forms of microcrystalline Quartz. Weighing 2.16 kg, this is a particularly impressive collector's specimen.
