Geology & Origin
Grape Agate is a botryoidal variety of Chalcedony composed of countless finely developed Quartz crystals that form spherical aggregates. The famous deposits of Indonesia developed within volcanic cavities, where silica-rich fluids were deposited layer by layer over long geological periods. This process produced the characteristic grape-like crystal aggregates that make Grape Agate one of the most decorative forms of microcrystalline Quartz. This outstanding large specimen combines impressive size with exceptionally abundant crystal growth, giving it outstanding collector quality.
