Grape Agate; Indonesia; 3548 g; unique piece
Grape Agate from Indonesia – 3548 g unique piece
This 3548 g unique piece shows Grape Agate from Indonesia. The surface is entirely covered with densely packed, rounded to spherical structures displaying delicate violet to lavender tones. Between the grape like formations, shallow cavities with a fine drusy texture and a matte to slightly silky surface are visible. Subtle color variations of gray, beige, and green appear in certain areas and add structural depth to the overall composition. The compact development and even distribution of the spherical forms give the specimen a harmonious and three dimensional presence.
Geology & Origin
Grape Agate is a botryoidal variety of Chalcedony formed by the layer by layer deposition of silica rich solutions within cavities of volcanic rocks. The characteristic spherical shapes develop through concentric growth around microscopic nucleation centers under low temperature conditions. The Indonesian occurrences are geologically linked to volcanic processes and are known for their intensely violet colored chalcedony formations influenced by trace elements and structural features within the silicon dioxide framework.
