Goyazite and Quartz crystals from the Lengenbach Mine, Binntal, Valais, Switzerland, Valentin Sicher Sr. collection– miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen from the famous Lengenbach quarry in the Binn Valley features a combination of whitish Quartz and embedded Goyazite, appearing as small beige aggregates on the matrix. Its fine-grained texture and the typical mineral associations of the sulfide-rich Lengenbach paragenesis give the piece an authentic and characteristic appearance. Originating from the collection of Valentin Sicher Sr., it represents the classic mineral diversity of this unique locality.

Geology & Origin

The Lengenbach quarry in Switzerland’s Binn Valley is world-renowned for its extraordinary assemblage of rare arsenic minerals formed within a highly complex dolomite vein system. Hydrothermal processes created more than 160 mineral species, many of them exclusive to this locality. Goyazite typically occurs in small aggregates at Lengenbach, often associated with Quartz, Dolomite or sulfide minerals. This specimen reflects the characteristic paragenesis of the site and is a fine example of the delicate mineralogical development found in this alpine deposit.
