This unique flat contains numerous mineral specimens with Gadolinite and Molybdenite from Kolsva in Sweden. The pieces predominantly show grey, grey-brown to pinkish rock areas with light-coloured Quartz and Feldspar components as well as darker mineral areas. The individual specimens vary in size, shape and composition, creating a varied selection of material from this Swedish locality. The complete flat shown in the pictures is offered as a unique lot.
Geology & Origin
Kolsva in Sweden is located in a geologically complex area with granitic and pegmatitic rocks. Gadolinite typically occurs in rare-element pegmatites, where it may be associated with Quartz, Feldspar and other accompanying minerals. Molybdenite commonly forms in granitic or hydrothermally influenced rocks and may occur together with quartz- and feldspar-rich mineralization. The specimens in this flat document different forms of this mineral association.
