Fluorite crystals from Uis, Namibia – small cabinet specimen as unique piece

This Fluorite specimen is distinguished by its well-developed crystal faces in predominantly green to blue-green hues, complemented by honey-yellow to slightly brownish areas. The partly translucent crystals and the pronounced crystal structure give this unique specimen a vivid and natural appearance. Fluorite commonly forms cubic crystals and is well known for its remarkable range of colors, which can vary from colorless to green, blue, yellow, or violet. Its characteristic crystal habit and diverse coloration make every Fluorite specimen a unique addition to any mineral collection.

Geology & origin

Fluorite (CaF₂) is a widely distributed mineral that commonly forms in hydrothermal veins and can occur in a wide range of colors. The Uis locality in Namibia is known for a variety of mineral occurrences, where Fluorite is associated with granitic and pegmatitic systems. Its coloration is influenced by trace elements and structural defects within the crystal lattice.

Application note

This piece is especially suitable for collectors and for decorative display. Due to its natural structure, it should be handled with care and stored in a dry environment to preserve the surface over time.
