The naturally formed Fluorite crystals from the Mönchhof Quarry at Hoher Meißner display the locality's characteristic violet to dark purple colours on a light-coloured matrix. Depending on the specimen, the crystals occur as fine coatings, small crystal carpets or within cavities, creating an attractive contrast with the surrounding rock. Their distinctive appearance and natural crystal growth make these individual specimens appealing collector's minerals from a well-known German locality.

Geology & Locality

The Mönchhof Quarry at Hoher Meißner in Hesse exposes rocks of the volcanic Meißner region. The Fluorite formed from hydrothermal fluids that deposited fluorine-rich minerals in fractures and cavities within the host rock. This locality is well known among collectors for its attractive purple Fluorite crystals and is regarded as one of Germany's classic Fluorite occurrences.
