GEOLOGY AND ORIGIN
Mount Malosa in southern Malawi is one of the country's most important mineral localities. The area is known for exceptionally well-formed crystals of Aegirine, Arfvedsonite, and Smoky Quartz. Geologically, it belongs to the Chilwa Alkaline Province and is characterized by highly evolved pegmatites. Collectors value the aesthetic associations and the diversity of rare alkaline minerals. Many specimens from Mount Malosa are now part of major international collections.
