Feldspar, Aegirine xx; Mt. Malosa, Zomba, Malawi; 1 unique flat (15)
Feldspar and Aegirine crystals from Mt. Malosa, Zomba, Malawi. 1 unique flat for mineral collectors.
Unique flat for mineral collectors: This selection of Feldspar and Aegirine crystals originates from Mt. Malosa, Zomba region, Malawi – collected during our own mineral expedition in 2022. These are handpicked field specimens, directly sourced from the locality.
The crystals exhibit striking contrasts: white to pink, blocky Feldspar formations paired with dark green, slender Aegirine needles. Many are embedded on attractive matrix and display classic habits typical for this renowned mineral location.
Mt. Malosa is one of Africa’s most famous mineral sources, known for its alkaline pegmatites rich in rare-element minerals. Aegirine from this locality is highly sought after, and Feldspar often shows sharp, well-defined crystal faces.
This flat provides an excellent representation of the site’s mineralogical diversity. Whether for display, academic study, or collection enhancement, it is a valuable and visually compelling addition to any serious mineral collection.
The flat shown is exactly the one being offered.
