Edenharterite and Realgar crystals from the Lengenbach Quarry, Binntal, Valais, Switzerland –  miniature specimen as unique piece

This miniature specimen from the Lengenbach Quarry features a striking association of Edenharterite and Realgar. The vivid orange tones stand out sharply against the pale matrix, while metallic areas emphasize the distinctive sulfosalt character of this locality. The interplay of colour and texture gives the piece a strong visual presence, making this single specimen a characteristic example of the classic Lengenbach paragenesis.

Geology & Origin

The Lengenbach Quarry in the Binn Valley, Switzerland, is renowned worldwide for its remarkable variety of sulfosalt species formed within a unique dolomite lens. A combination of hydrothermal activity, metal-rich host rocks, and long-lasting geochemical processes enabled the development of rare mineral species such as Edenharterite and Realgar. This specimen reflects the geological signature of the locality and illustrates the mineralogical diversity for which Lengenbach is highly regarded.
