Delicate light green Cupro-Aragonite crystals stand out in contrast against the cream-colored matrix. The crystals occur in small clusters, some of which show clearly visible prismatic shapes. The waxy surface texture and pastel-like coloration give the specimen a subtle yet aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Geology & Origin
Cupro-Aragonite is a copper-bearing variety of Aragonite that typically forms in oxidized zones of ancient ore deposits. The Serpieri Mine in Laurion, Greece, is a classic locality known for its wide range of secondary copper minerals.
