Chrysoprase from Sulawesi, Indonesia – 29.85 kg on pallet as unique piece.

This massive Chrysoprase specimen from Sulawesi, Indonesia, weighing 29.85 kg, appears as an impressive raw piece with an irregular, naturally shaped surface. The color range extends from soft apple and mint green tones to more intense yellowish green areas, interspersed with earthy brown and ochre inclusions. The green zones occur both in broader areas and in layered patterns, giving the specimen a lively and organic structure. The untreated appearance emphasizes the original character of the material and makes this heavy single specimen a striking object for collections, exhibitions, or decorative display.

Geology & Origin

Chrysoprase is a nickel-bearing variety of Chalcedony and forms through the silicification of silica-rich solutions in the presence of nickel-rich weathering products. Deposits on Sulawesi are known for their natural green hues, which are caused by finely dispersed nickel compounds. The irregular distribution of green zones in this specimen reflects complex geochemical processes during formation, making each piece an individual geological record.
