Trisodium citrate is the sodium salt of citric acid and is used in a variety of applications:

• Chemistry: Component of Benedict's reagent for detecting reducing sugars.
• Medicine: Prevents coagulation in blood samples.
• Industrial Applications: Frequently used as an acidity regulator (E 331) in food and beverage industry processes.
• Household: Employed as a melting salt and water softener in detergents.
• Technical Applications: Can be used as a component in rust removal solutions.

The product is supplied in a 1-kg package where sterile packaging is not guaranteed. It is recommended for technical applications.
