This unique lot consists of five specimens featuring Analcime crystals from Duingen, Lower Saxony, Germany. The specimens display brown to grey-brown matrix with white to cream-coloured Analcime crystals occurring mainly as dense aggregates and fine crystalline coatings. The variety of sizes and crystal development provides an attractive overview of this classic zeolite mineral.
Geology & Origin
Duingen in Lower Saxony is well known for its zeolite occurrences, which formed in cavities within volcanic rocks. Analcime developed there as a secondary mineral through hydrothermal processes and is commonly associated with other zeolites and Calcite. The locality is regarded as one of Germany's classic sources for minerals of the zeolite group.
