Pietersite with Clinochrysotile from Namibia – 1 kg
This 1 kg lot contains rough pieces of Pietersite with Clinochrysotile from Namibia. The material displays characteristic blue to grayish-blue fibrous areas contrasting with light to brownish host rock. The silky fibrous textures give the specimens a lively appearance and emphasize their natural character. Depending on the individual piece, the fibrous zones are more or less pronounced, making each specimen unique. Due to the presence of Clinochrysotile, the material is intended solely for collecting or for professional processing after proper stabilization.
Geology & Origin
Pietersite is a brecciated rock composed predominantly of silicified Hawk's Eye and Tiger's Eye material and is well known for its distinctive fibrous structure. The specimens offered here originate from Namibia, one of the classic localities for this material. The contained Clinochrysotile belongs to the serpentine group and is responsible for the characteristic fibrous texture. The rough material should only be processed after proper stabilization.
Usage Instructions
Suitable as collection material or for professional lapidary work. The material must only be processed after it has been properly stabilized. Cutting, grinding, drilling, or milling untreated rough material should not be carried out.
