Our raw stones are partially not cleaned. Possible impurities such as dust or dirt can be easily and quickly removed with water. This has no impact on the product quality.
Agate from Sulawesi, Indonesia – 10 kg
This 10 kg lot contains rough pieces of Agate from Sulawesi, Indonesia. The material displays a varied color range from milky white and gray to warm yellow, orange, and reddish tones. Some pieces show typical agate features such as fine banding, cloudy zoning, and slightly translucent areas, while others appear more compact and uniform. The surfaces are natural and irregularly fractured, allowing the internal structure to be visible even in the rough state. Certain pieces already indicate the decorative potential that becomes especially pronounced after cutting and polishing.
Geology & Origin
Agate is a variety of chalcedony and belongs to the group of microcrystalline quartz. It is characterized by rhythmic banding formed through the layered deposition of silica-rich solutions within cavities of volcanic rocks. Deposits in Indonesia, particularly on Sulawesi, are known for producing agates with diverse colors and patterns, influenced by varying mineral inclusions.
Application
Well suited for lapidary work such as cabochons, tumbled stones, and decorative objects. Also ideal as raw material for collectors or further processing.
