This unique flat features Aegirine, Zircon, and Smoky Quartz crystals from the renowned Mt. Malosa in Malawi – a classic locality for rare pegmatite minerals. These specimens are part of our 2022 field collection and are notable for their quality, contrast, and natural aesthetic.

The dark green, needle-like Aegirine crystals stand out against the lighter matrix and are beautifully complemented by reddish-brown, partly translucent Zircon crystals. Some of these are UV-active and glow under longwave ultraviolet light – a highlight for fans of fluorescent minerals.

Smoky Quartz crystals show clear to smoky-brown tones with well-developed faces and a bright luster. Together, these minerals form a striking and highly collectible ensemble.

Located in southern Malawi, Mt. Malosa is known for its geologically complex pegmatites that often yield rare mineral combinations. This flat offers a representative selection of typical assemblages from the site and is perfect for collectors who appreciate authentic, field-collected material.
