Well-balanced mix of aegirine, smoky quartz and feldspar crystals from Mt. Malosa near Zomba, Malawi. The crystals display the typical morphology of sharp aegirine needles, clear to smoky quartz points, and feldspar-rich sections, often on matrix. This variety in crystal formation makes the flat particularly attractive.
The material was self-collected during our 2022 mineral expedition to Malawi. Mt. Malosa is well known among collectors for its distinctive alkali rock mineral assemblages with superb formation and vivid coloration.
A perfect addition for collectors of African localities, systematic collections, or those interested in unusual mineral parageneses.
