Zircon, Arfvedsonite and Aegirine crystals, partly UV-active, from Mt. Malosa in Zomba, Malawi – 1 unique flat.
This collection contains numerous specimens with well-formed and aesthetic crystals of zircon, arfvedsonite and aegirine from one of Malawi’s most important mineral localities. Many pieces display lustrous black to brownish zircon crystals, often with partially translucent edges. Aegirine occurs as slender to prismatic crystals in characteristic bundles, while arfvedsonite is present as dark green to deep black crystals, frequently embedded in contrasting matrix. Under UV light, some pieces exhibit fluorescent areas, making this collection particularly appealing for fans of fluorescent minerals.
