The pieces show a variety of metallic hues from dark grey to deep ruby-red tones, typical for these rare silver sulfosalts and related species.

Colquechaca is a historic mining district in the Potosí Department of Bolivia. The locality is among the most important sources of silver-bearing secondary minerals in South America. The sulfosalt-rich veins of this region have produced a wide range of unusual crystal formations, including paragenetic associations of pyrargyrite, dyscrasite, argyrodite and canfieldite.
