Geology & Origin
Larimar is a rare copper-bearing variety of pectolite found almost exclusively in the Dominican Republic. It formed in volcanic cavities through hydrothermal processes. The material offered here comes from the well-known Filipinas Mine in the Barahona Province – the only commercial source worldwide. Its distinctive blue coloration results from copper ions incorporated during mineral formation.
