This 10 kg lot contains rough pieces of moss green jasper in varying sizes and shapes. The material shows natural structures with a mossy green base color, partly interspersed with yellowish and brownish veins. It is well suited for cutting, polishing, or as a decorative collector’s stone with clear locality reference.
Geology & Origin
The moss green jasper comes from the Indonesian island of Java, which is well known for its diverse silicate rocks of volcanic origin. Jasper forms as a fine-grained, dense variety of quartz and typically develops in association with volcanic activity and silica-rich solutions. Characteristic features include compact textures and the strong green coloration caused by mineral inclusions. The deposits on Java have long provided attractive rough material for jewelry making and lapidary work.
