Forest green jasper from Java, Indonesia. 10 kg
This 10 kg unit contains raw pieces of forest green jasper. The material originates from the Indonesian island of Java and displays strong green tones, often interspersed with subtle variations and some rusty-brown structures. The pieces vary in size and are well suited for cutting, polishing or decorative purposes.
Geology & Origin
Jasper is a microcrystalline variety of quartz (chalcedony). Its vivid colors are caused by finely distributed mineral inclusions such as iron oxides or chlorite. The forest green jasper from Java occurs in volcanic rock sequences, formed through hydrothermal processes. These Indonesian deposits have long supplied decorative rough material widely used in the jewelry and lapidary industry. The deep, uniform green shade is particularly valued and becomes striking when polished.
