Hurlbutite from Eräjärvi, Viitaniemi, Finland – cabinet specimen as unique piece

This specimen from Viitaniemi in the renowned pegmatite region of Eräjärvi features a rare occurrence of Hurlbutite, visible as yellowish-green massive sections along the right edge. The color contrast with the light matrix and the glittering violet-brown associated minerals adds visual appeal. The zoned structure and distinct mineral boundaries make this piece especially interesting for advanced collectors.

Geology & Origin:

Hurlbutite is an extremely rare beryllium phosphate mineral, with only a few documented occurrences worldwide in collectible quality. The pegmatites of Eräjärvi in southwestern Finland are among Europe’s classic localities, renowned for their diversity of rare phosphate minerals. Viitaniemi is especially noted for its beryllium- and lithium-bearing mineral assemblages.
