Strunzite, Laueite xls etc.; Silbergrube, Waidhaus, Hagendorf, Bayern, Germany; 1 flat
Strunzite, Laueite and other phosphates from the Silbergrube near Waidhaus in Bavaria – 1 flat
This collection includes various phosphate minerals such as Strunzite, Laueite, Rockbridgeite or Ferrisicklerite on matrix from the Silbergrube near Waidhaus, close to Hagendorf in Bavaria. Many of the specimens show microscopic crystals in dark or reddish-brown tones, some with well-defined zoning or lustrous needle-like formations. The contrasting development on light pegmatite matrix is characteristic of this classic locality.
The Silbergrube is part of the renowned Hagendorf pegmatite field, known for its exceptional variety of secondary phosphate minerals. These minerals formed through hydrothermal alteration in lithium-rich pegmatites. This flat provides a locality-specific overview of these rare and often collector-grade micro- and mini-sized phosphates.
