Mapimi mix crystals from Mapimi, Mexico – 1 unique flat
This flat presents a varied selection of typical secondary mineral formations from the famous Mapimi locality in Mexico. The specimens show colorful and mineralogically diverse crystal coatings and assemblages, including adamite, rosasite, aurichalcite, hemimorphite, and other rare minerals from the oxidation zone.
Most crystals are well formed and cover matrix-rich specimens in shades ranging from yellowish to turquoise, reddish, or violet-gray. Some pieces exhibit strong fluorescence under UV light. The Mapimi site, especially the Ojuela Mine, is one of the world’s most important sources for collector-grade copper and zinc secondary minerals.
