Native Antimony from Seinajoki, Finland – miniature specimen as unique piece
This miniature specimen displays a grey, finely structured matrix with an embedded, metallic-lustrous area that clearly indicates native Antimony. The silvery-grey mass stands out against the host rock and shows a slightly lamellar texture typical of native antimony.
Geology & Origin
Native Antimony is a rare elemental mineral, usually found in hydrothermal veins or as an alteration product of other Antimony compounds. The Seinäjoki area in western Finland is known for a wide range of mineral occurrences, including rare elements such as antimony. This specimen comes from one of these classic Scandinavian localities.
