This massive Pyrite specimen from Java impresses with its metallic luster and golden color. The surface reveals a dense, angular texture with shiny fracture planes and embedded areas in dark matrix. The heavy piece appears very compact and is suitable for both display and geological study.
Geology & Origin:
In Central Java, Indonesia, Pyrite forms primarily in sedimentary rocks and shales through hydrothermal processes. Tropical weathering affects surface deposits significantly, so massive and well-preserved pieces like this usually originate from deeper zones. While Pyrite is widespread globally, large examples from Indonesia are relatively rare in the collector’s market.
Our raw stones are partially not cleaned. Possible impurities such as dust or dirt can be easily and quickly removed with water. This has no impact on the product quality.
