The Cerchar-Test (Cerchar, 1986) is designed to evaluate the abrasiveness of rocks. This testing device enables the determination of the Cerchar-Abrasiveness-Index (CAI) to distinguish the
abrasiveness of solid rock.

The compound table allows the movement of the clamping device in one direction to achieve tool wear and repeat traverse action
