Fluorite crystals from Fieschergletscher, Valais, Switzerland – small cabinet specimen as unique piece
This attractive small cabinet specimen features numerous pale green Fluorite crystals on a fine drusy matrix from the Fiescher Glacier region in Valais, Switzerland. The crystals are clearly visible and display the characteristic cubic crystal habit typical of Fluorite. Their delicate green coloration and slightly translucent appearance give the specimen an elegant alpine character. The crystals are well developed and occur within a natural cavity of the matrix, creating a particularly pleasing overall presentation.
Geology & Origin
The Fiescher Glacier is located in the central Swiss Alps of Valais and is well known for alpine fissures that have produced fine mineral specimens over long geological periods. Tectonic activity created cavities within the host rocks, allowing mineral rich fluids to circulate and deposit crystals. Under these conditions, various minerals formed, including Fluorite. Specimens from Swiss alpine fissures are highly regarded among collectors worldwide for their natural aesthetics and excellent crystal quality.
